My end of an art trade with my old friend Anita DeLeon of her DnD character, Un (Pronounced like the latter part of moon, I assume). I have to admit, all those dark colors were kind of a pain to work with, but he actually turned out pretty well.
Man, I had this one sitting on the back-burner for a while.. Still, I think the wait was worth it. I'm actually thinking of doing a whole party, as a matter of fact... Maybe throwing some animation in there. We'll see what happens!
Jumping back into proper digital art, we have a little piece put together to break in both the new year and my new sketchbook. There's no name for this character as of yet, but I had a lot of fun working out her color scheme.
Though I'd experiment around with some ink for the first time in literal years - using an old character of mine to boot by the name of Evelyn. Considering how long its been, and the fact that I only used a sharpie for this, I actually think it turned out pretty alright... Maybe I'll consider working with ink more often in the future?
Another commission completed! This time for the wonderful and extremely talented Butter, who does amazing art all her own if I do say so myself. In regards to this piece in particular though, I have to say, I think I'm especially proud of myself for going the extra mile to put together that slashing animation.
(Link to Butter's Tumblr page here A little character I put together during a little effort to improve my coloring technique. Some people have asked me what the brush is for, and while I didn't have any ideas in mind at first, I'm sort of leaning on the idea that she can use it to paint objects into reality (Like, say, a bridge or a house) - but the catch is that regardless of what she paints, it's still only made of paint.
So, for example, a tent could simply be washed away by the rain (unless it dries first, giving it a greater resistance to water), or something like a flashlight wouldn't function normally - since there's no actual circuitry involved. Made a quick pair of Carrie sprites in my down time. Hope everybody's havin' a good week! It's been an insanely busy month for me, but at least this has given me the chance to just focus on practicing my artistic approach for a while. Who knows? Maybe the effort will pay off.
A commission for the wonderful Azufrost on Twitter.
This took way longer than I was expecting due to all the other work on my plate recently, but all things considered, I really like how the end result turned out. (Holy heck, though - some of these little details took forever to figure out.) Link to Azufrost's Twitter here I, uh... I spent way too much time on this...
Still, I have to admit: putting this together was actually pretty fun. (Based on that whole "Bowsette" trend that's been going around lately. If you look it up, you'll see what I mean.) So, following up on the end of the voting period, I've begun work on the child's animations, and I aim to complete at least the basic necessary animations one at a time per week. (This one still needs some tweaks of course, but the overall animation is done, at least.) I'll also be putting up a separate page in the "Other Projects" section as I continue making progress, so keep an eye out for that.
